Skirner is the Nordström family's investment company. We develop companies for future generations, with roots in community building and looking to the future.

Our history begins in 1958, when FFNS was founded – what later became Sweco. That experience characterizes how we work as owners today: with respect for what has already been built and with the ambition to enable the next step in a company's transformation.

For us, ownership is about creating long-term conditions — for the company, the people in it and the place where it operates. Our starting point is clear priorities and strong operational responsibility in the companies: when we enter, we do so with commitment, structure and a willingness to create direction together with entrepreneurs and management.

We are looking for companies where the entrepreneur and management want to continue building, and where active ownership can make a tangible difference - in strategy and priorities, in organisation and working methods, and in conditions for investment and expansion.

Our focus is Sweden and the Nordics, often businesses with an international presence or ambition to grow outside the home market. We are flexible in size and context, but are looking for companies that have already built stability and structure - and that can take the next step with Skirner as owner.

When Gunnar Nordström co-founded FFNS in 1958, he put into words an idea that still feels modern: that development requires both direction and movement. He called it tracking in new snow — daring to try new things, to take the lead when there are no tracks, and at the same time stay the course using clear cornerstones.

In practice, it is a special kind of courage. Not the loud, but the persistent: to rethink working methods and priorities when conditions change, and to make decisions even when the outcome is not a given. It's about building on what works -- and being equally clear about what needs to be amplified or changed.
